For the amount of babbling I do about Narnia, you’d think I’d be able to write more fic for it. Not true. I’ve only done three so far, plus the playlist shuffle meme. I think all this meta is unconsciously about how I haven’t jumped as enthusiastically into fic writing as I’d hoped I would. “Instead of actually writing fics, why don’t we analyze the books and movies and actors to death?” On the other hand, maybe meta is my contribution to the fandom. I must have the largest collection of Narnia meta in the (journal based) fandom now. Which would really mean something if I was posting them on Livejournal but I’m not so it’s more like no one even knows it’s there.

I feel very much like I’m stuck outside looking in. I'm not really making friends, they're all over there and I'm all over...here. So mostly I just observe and comment to myself which feels pretty off. Because whenever you think no one is listening, so you can do or say whatever you want, it usually turns out that they were.

You'd think the Narnia fandom would have jumped ship too. Considering a large portion of the fic concerns underage characters and underage actors. I think they were worried when Strikethrough first broke, but the real surge in the fandom happened way after, when people started thinking they were safe again. So, it's all on Livejournal.

I was going to link two Cosmicdance entries on LJ when I realized, only two people ever comment on those now, and one of them already has and we’re already having a nice discussion that no one else will join in on so why bother extending the invitation to anyone else? They know where to find the journal if they want to read it.

If there was a widget that would automatically ship links to my LJ whenever I posted using certain tags, so we could all have it both ways, that would be cool.

Sweetie, if you want to head back over there you will get NO objection from me! Want to go back there as your primary journal for a couple of weeks?

Cross-posting shouldn't take too long to do ;)

I don't know what to do. I don't want to give in. And yet. Maybe I could just make that my "talking about narnia" journal and this could be my "everything else" journal.

I suppose, like all RL=net comparisons, that it's like a city/country... If you love it, you will stay no matter how objectively sucky it may be. If you hate it, you don't care about the good sides. And some people will stick around because all their loved ones are there.

I could think of it as the net equivalent of jet setting.

Yes, that would be great.

I've been reading these with interest, though I don't have much to say; I'm a long-term fan of the books, I've seen the animated movie (and hated it), and most of the BBC series (though I wasn't very keen on it - I think you're right that the Silver Chair was the best...) and I've not seen Prince Caspian. and am unlikely to do so now until it comes out on TV. Which no doubt it will, though LWW hasn't yet.

I barely remember the animated movie, which can't be a good sign.

The Silver Chair was probably the best because it didn't have most of the things the BBC versions weren't good at. No battles, and only two scenes involving talking animals.
