I'm on my netbook at the library. The wireless works great-absolutely no setting up or fussing with stuff on my part. I just turn on the computer, it finds the nearest wifi connection and I'm off and running. This is much better than my last computer, which claimed it came with a wireless card but actually didn't, so I had to install some stuff and get an external wireless card. My apartment had a terrible connection, too-fast, but extremely unstable.
This thing is light enough to take to libraries and starts up with no fuss at all. Incredibly long lasting battery too-my old one got me an hour if I was lucky. But I kinda miss my old one too because we went through so much together and it, you know, still has all my stuff on it. Including all the photos from the next installment of "Doll Treader" and a lot of my writing projects. Hope some of that is still on my USB drive.
The only problem is that it does not do dialup. I tried and got a message that there was no modem installed. So I guess when I'm at my parents house, there will be no going online in my bedroom.
But I can't help constantly thinking about how I miss my apartment. And remembering about how I really, actually, can't just go home to it when I get sick of my family.
So...Michael Jackson is dead. That was pretty shocking, although I'm not sure what to say about it. I feel like something should be said. Other than wondering if Paul and Ringo are gonna get the Beatles catalogue back now.
