Fallen Idols. Nice to see a “Monster of the Week/Investigating American Urban Legends” story again.
Really funny stuff: The interaction with that poor maid, Dean putting on Lincoln’s h at, and Sam getting in a fistfight with Gandhi. Dean underneath “Little Bastard”, trying to get the engine number before the car kills him. Setting fire to Lincoln's hat.
Dean sounded really, really bitchy on the phone to Bobby when Sam overheard. ETA: Some people seem to think he was referring to himself when he said "and we know whose fault that was".
Good that Paris Hilton can make fun of herself- although to be honest, I've suspected for quite some time that half the stuff she does is just an act. She'll never win awards for her ability to play a totally different character, but I'm pretty sure the persona we associate with Paris Hilton is purposely exaggerated and studied and that way we can never touch the real person. I enjoyed the whole point of her speech on celebrity.
Not funny but cool anyway: Dean knowing exactly what he was looking at when he saw the “James Dean” car. After all, it combines two of his interests, cars and movies.
I noticed Dean has his own laptop now, when did that happen? Good for him.
I'm glad they're trying to work things out but even if Dean should treat Sam more like a grownup, Dean still deserves a little time to milk what Sam did to him. They have this tendency to exaggerate the behvaior of each brother depending on whose pov the episode is basically from, and this time it was Sam centric. Episode writer is clearly a Sam girl, judging by how much focus it put on Dean's jerky side and Sam's super genuis.
Not cool at all: Dean’s comments about Gandhi, although it is likely the sort of thing someone like that would say and the writers thought was funny but isn’t. Although sometimes I wonder if they write those jerk moments on purpose because they really think he’d say that but someone else wouldn’t, and they’re just being honest about the fact that they honestly do think he’s kind of a jerk.
The preview for next week looks absolutely hilarious and cracky. There’s a Japanese game show in which Sam gets hit in the crotch, there’s some kind of virtual reality gizmo, there’s Middle Aged!Dean, I mean, wtf is going on next week?
