Kaya means, in Nimiipuu, "She Who Arranges Rocks". No, I don't understand what that means, but since I deliberately decided to move her to another tribe, it must be absolute nonsense in Abenaki.
I've also been pronouncing it wrong, it's KEEya, not KAIya.
But she came to me as Kaya, and I find it impossible to think of her as any other name. That's the problem with dolls that arrive with names, personalities and fully described back stories.
