A fic that is mediocre at best is greeted by screeching, joyful feedback.

There is only so much squeeing fangirl I can take. I hope people start to calm down soon (sure they will, sure…). I need to preserve what’s left of my sanity, so I don’t intend to get involved with these people. Just lurk and read the fics I like.

I miss talking to people live. But I also don't want to waste any opportunities to go places and not be in my house. In addition to all the other issues, it's now also very *hot* in here. Especially in my room, where the window is stuck yet again.

If it's like an oven in there don't worry, we quite understand your absence from AIM!

In YA news, have you read Scott Westerfeld's UGLIES (futuristic dystopia) series? It's extremely clever - doesn't have my heart, but does have my admiration, particularly for the world-building and sly satires on contemporary concerns. He's part of the "circle" that includes Libba and Crappy Claire, but unlike CC he deserves to be there ;) Try it if it's at your local library!
